Why it matters

Payroll is a promise you cannot be late on

Staff expect their salary on the date you agreed. PAYE, pension and deductions must be calculated correctly every time. Payslips must be clear enough to hold up to audit. Niimbu handles all three from one action.

Run payroll once, payslips for everyone

Enter the period, review the figures and approve. Every staff member's salary, deductions and net pay are calculated from the rules you set. Payslips are generated for the whole team in one action.

Paid directly to their bank

Salaries disburse through NIP to each staff member's bank account. No cash, no transfers one by one, no envelopes. The payment arrives on the date you set, and the payslip is available the moment it clears.

Deductions handled, not improvised

PAYE, pension, cooperative contributions and any other deductions are applied by rule, shown clearly on the payslip and recorded on the books. Nobody has to remember the formula each pay period.

How it works

From staff list to paid, in four steps

01

Set up the staff

Add each staff member's bank details, salary, tax band and deduction rules. Once set, these carry forward every period unless you change them.

02

Run the payroll

Select the pay period. Niimbu calculates gross, deductions and net for every staff member from the rules already in place. Review the summary before approving.

03

Approve and disburse

One approval triggers the batch. Every salary disbursement settles via NIP to the staff member's bank account, and each one carries a unique reference.

04

Payslips go out

Each staff member receives their payslip automatically, showing gross, every deduction and net pay. The record posts to your books without a manual entry.

Calculation

Deductions that apply themselves

PAYE bands, pension rates, cooperative contributions and any other deduction follow rules you configure once. Every pay period, the same rules produce the same correct figures without anyone remembering the formula.

  • PAYE calculated from current tax bands
  • Pension and NHF applied by rule
  • Custom deductions for cooperatives, loans and advances

Disbursement

Every salary, settled on the same day

A batch of twenty or two hundred, the process is the same. Approve the payroll, and every salary disbursement settles through NIP to the staff member's bank account. Nobody gets paid late because the batch was large.

The difference

What changes when payroll is a system, not a spreadsheet

The usual way

  • A spreadsheet formula that breaks when tax bands change
  • Manual calculation of PAYE, pension and deductions for each staff member
  • Transfers to each bank account one by one
  • Payslips typed up and sent individually
  • No central record of what was paid and when

With Niimbu

  • Tax bands and deduction rules applied automatically
  • Gross to net calculated for the whole team in one action
  • Batch disbursement through NIP in one approval
  • Payslips generated and delivered for every staff member
  • Full payroll history, searchable by date and department
Everything included

The payroll detail that real teams need

No add-on modules and no higher tier to unlock the basics. These are part of payroll from the first day you open an account.

Salary calculation

Gross to net, with every deduction applied by rule, for the whole team in one action.

PAYE tax computation

Calculated from current FIRS bands, shown on the payslip and recorded on the books.

Pension contributions

Employee and employer contributions calculated and recorded per staff member.

Cooperative deductions

Custom deductions for cooperative contributions, loans and advances, applied by rule.

Batch disbursement

Every salary settles through NIP on the same day, with a unique reference per staff member.

Payslip generation

Every staff member receives a payslip showing gross, deductions and net, automatically.

Bank details management

Staff bank accounts stored and verified, so disbursements go to the right account every time.

Payroll history

Every pay period, every staff member, every figure. Searchable and filterable by date and department.

Multi-month scheduling

Set the pay date once and the payroll runs on schedule, with approval required before disbursement.

The idea behind it

Payroll is arithmetic on a deadline.

It is the same calculation every month, against figures the system already holds. Anything rebuilt by hand each cycle will eventually be rebuilt wrong, and payroll is the worst place for that to happen.

Pricing

Per staff member, not per company

Questions

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, the Help Centre goes deeper, or you can talk to someone on the team.

How does Niimbu calculate PAYE?

PAYE is calculated from the current FIRS tax bands, applied per staff member based on their gross salary and any qualifying reliefs. The calculation is shown on each payslip and the total tax is recorded on your books.

Can I include custom deductions like cooperative contributions?

Yes. You can set up any custom deduction, such as cooperative contributions, loan repayments or advances, as a rule per staff member or per group. The deduction is applied every pay period and shown on the payslip.

How do salaries get to the staff member's bank account?

Once you approve the payroll, every salary disbursement settles through NIP to the staff member's bank account. Each transfer carries a unique reference, and the staff member receives their payslip automatically.

What if a staff member changes banks?

Update their bank details in their profile. The next payroll run will disburse to the new account. The change is recorded and the previous disbursement history is preserved.

Can I run payroll for different departments on different dates?

Yes. You can group staff by department and run separate payrolls on different dates. Each group follows its own schedule, approval chain and disbursement batch.

Does payroll show up in my books automatically?

Yes. Every salary, every deduction and every disbursement posts against the staff member, the department and the budget category they belong to, and flows through to bookkeeping without a manual entry.

What does payroll cost?

There is no monthly platform fee. You pay a small fee per staff member paid per period. There is no charge for running the calculation, generating payslips or storing staff records.

The rest of Pay

Paying out works best when every channel shares one balance, one approval flow and one audit trail. Each of these feeds the same account and spend record.
